National nature reserve Manínska tiesňava (“Manín gorge”)
The Manín stream has by its relentless impact divided the Manín cliff into two parts – Big and Small Manín. They now from afar dominate our region, but especially they created a narrow gorge. Visitors are thus offered a beautiful natural theatre with steep rock walls and wild cliffs which are also popular with climbers. Botanists can count more than 530 species of protected plants among which many rare animals have their home. A little less than one kilometre long Manín gorge is the narrowest gorge with a built road in Slovakia – even though at one point it is no more than 4 metre wide, it can be still crossable by walking or by bus.
