Manín club of Slovak tourists
The club is a civil association of people concerned with tourism. It secures the development of various activities, mainly hiking, cycling tourism, mountain, water, and ski tourism. The club contributes to development of conditions for summer and winter tourism, camping and picnics not only for club members, but also for general public. Besides these activities, the club organizes their own trips, tours, and events. The event called Jilemnického jarná 25-ka (Jilemnický spring 25) belongs among popular events. Tourist march has been organized annually since 1977 and it is also included in the international calendar of events IVV of the international organization for folk sport of which Slovakia is a full member. Organizers try to vary the trails every year, while hikers can choose from three alternative routes: 10, 15 and 25 km and a trail for cyclists with a length of approximately 60 km. Except this tourist march, the club also organizes twice a year a star-meeting at symbolic cemetery in Manínska strait, Odomykanie (“Unlocking”) in March and Zamykanie (“Locking”) of Manínska strait in November. It is a tourist undemanding event and in addition to walking around Manín strait, it is also aimed to help the nature (collection of rubbish in the most visited places, sidewalks, and wells cleaning).
