Cave club Strážovské hills
Cave club Strážovské hills belongs among establishments of the Slovak Speleological Society, professional civil association of people concerned with karts and caving. The cave club with its seat in Považská Bystrica has over 40 members - volunteer cavers. The main activity of the club is exploring, discovering, registration, documentation, and protection of karst phenomena, especially of caves in Súľovské and Strážovské hills. Members of the club perform a practical speleological survey and research in these karst areas, they ensure caves protection and care and they dedicate their activities to environmental and public education. During the club functioning from 1999, these volunteers discovered and documented many caves, among other also the largest cave in Strážovské hills called Četníkovasvadba on Strážov. This cave inducing Jánošík cave, Strážovská chasm, chasm between Kačky (Kortmanka), Otcova cave and Pružinská Dúpna cave were closed to prevent their damaging or possible injury of visitors. Šarkania hole in Súľov rocks, Babirátka, Pružinská Dúpnacave and most recently also Partizánska cave in Big Manín were thanks to them pronounced free for public. Events for general public such as ZELENÁ MODRÁ and STRÁŽOVSKÉ VRCHOLENIE also contribute to development of speleological tourism.
